As you may know, Indiana will change to Daylight Savings Time on April 2nd. This email describes how to change the time zone on your Windows computer to the new time zone. If you do not change your time zone, your computer clock will not automatically change when it is supposed to.
There is an issue with the Microsoft Outlook calendar in regards to this time zone change. If you do not use Outlook as your calendar, or do not know what Outlook is, you may ignore the sections regarding Outlook.
Summary:
- All computers need to be changed from the 'Indiana' time zone to the 'Eastern Time' zone.

Did you know that monitors and televisions that contain a picture tube (CRT) have leaded glass, and are the largest source of lead in municipal waste? A CRT monitor can contain between 4 and 8 pounds of lead. Computers also can contain cadmium and mercury. These materials (lead, cadmium and mercury) can be very hazardous to our health and the environment.
Maine is the first state is first to require the makers of televisions and computer monitors to pay for recovery of trashed equipment. Read more here.

The Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service is offering The Beginner's Guide to Grant Writing workshop this spring. The workshop is a two-part class that is intended to help inexperianced writers learn how to write a grant proposal. It is suggested that participants come with a porject or idea in mind.
Onsite facilitaters from the Purdue campus will use an Internet based video system to show the workshop in various locations in Indiana.
Dates: April 12 and May 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Locations: 23 locations including both the Goshen and LaGrange Purdue Extension offices
